L'OREAL PURE CLAY MASK

Hello guys,

I have been wanting to talk about the clay masks from l'oreal with you guys from some time now. So when i purchased the Pure clay mask, I thought I'd review this for you guys.

Do let me know what you think.

The L'Oréal Paris Laboratories have selected three pure clays and combined them with Red Algae extract in an exfoliating scrub, for brighter, smoother and fresher skin, every day. Finely milled apricot seeds gently exfoliate dull, uneven skin to reveal its natural glow. The beaded, creamy texture illuminates by exfoliating skin, without drying it out.

PURE CLAYS + RED ALGAE
Kaolin- a highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum
Montmorillonite- rich in minerals, a clay recognized for helping to eliminate imperfections
Ghassoul- a pure clay highly concentrated in minerals, renowned to help clarify complexion
Red Algae- known for its brightening properties

Experience
The mask comes in a square glass container with a twist top lid. The design is super basic, and the glass isn’t ideal for clumsy hands or bathroom tiles, but it does store the product effectively. I feel a squeeze tube would be less messy and more hygienic.

The mask has a thick paste like consistency, and grainy texture. There is a slight scent but that fades away after application. I have sensitive skin and have had no issue with either the texture or fragrance of this mask.

One of my favorite thing is that it can be used 2-3 times in a week, and only takes 10 minutes. You apply a thin layer in areas that needs exfoliation/ smoothing and leave it on for 10 minutes, and rinse. The mask does have gentle exfoliating grans throughout it, so you can massage the product into your skin for greater exfoliation. You can either use it as a scrub or mask. But I prefer using the face wash/ scrub and then follow it up with this as a mask.

The results are almost immediate. Skin looks much softer and even, Pores feel tighter. I have used the purifying mask and that was also one of my favorite product. This mask is cheap and quick to use and targets specific areas.

Pros:
Affordable
Effective
Easy application
Less time

Cons:
Packaging

Seville's

Seville's is a vibrant Spanish restaurant and bar part of the Wafi pyramid’s labyrinth of restaurants.

It has both indoor and outdoor seating, and winters are perfect for sitting outdoors. The entire area is lit up and they have soothing music playing in the background giving you a very snug vibe.

The inside area has a very rustic, yet romantic and cozy feel with exposed bricks and dim lights. The interiors are of a muted brown with rustic furniture. It gives off a very relaxed bar/lounge setting, where you can easily unwind post a hard day off work or just relax with your friends.

We wanted to start off the night with a clink and ordered for Seville’s traditional Spanish sangria. I was pretty intrigued as it was served in an earthern jar. However, the Sangria wasn’t as moreish as expected.

We swiftly moved onto Tapas, and ended up having not one but four off the menu. From chicken to octopus, we didn’t miss any. We ordered for fricase de pollo, pulpo ala gallega, cachupo asturiano & vieiras gratinadas.

Fricasse is a term used to describe a stew dish that is usually made with poultry and cooked in a white gravy sauce, of which there are many variations. Fricase de pollo was essentially chicken in white gravy. It was juicy, succulent and delectable and a good choice with bread. It was served in a white ceramic casserole, very distinctive of age old cutlery prominently used in Spain.

From chicken we swiftly moved to beef with the cachupo asturiano. It is Rib eye beef breaded and stuffed with smoked Spanish cheese and beef bacon served on the side with fries.  . I was drooling with the very thought of having cheese oozing out of the meat once I cut into it. For me I’d rather if it was grilled than fried, but nevertheless the meat was cooked well and we did have the cheese ooze out, almost not with the intensity I would have loved.  I loved the rustic presentation.

How can we not have Octopus when in a Spanish restaurant. Pulpo ala gallega is Galician style octopus. It’s essentially Meditteranean octopus served with thin potatoes and smoked paprika. It was my first time eating Octopus, and I'm unsure if I'd be the correct in saying it wasn't that great. Moreso, it was a put off that a hot tapas was not served hot. Although the smoked paprika did give it a very distinct flavor.

My favorite of the lot was vieiras gratinadas. Gratin is a widespread culinary technique in which an ingredient is topped with a browned crust, often using breadcrumbs, grated cheese, egg or butter. The Vieiras were cooked to perfection, and was served in scallop shells on a wooden base.

Asep our server was exceptionally helpful and assisted with the menu.  For drinks he proposed we try Brain Damage. How can you say no, to something that sounds like that. Curiosity took over and we couldn’t say no. They are shots of bailey served with grenadine. It’s made to resemble an upside down brain. I kid you not. It tasted amazing. Now that’s one of the drinks I’d go back for.  To know about the other one, keep reading.

For the mains, we had to have Paletilla de lechazo al horno/ Lamb shank. Manuel, the manager went on and on about it and we couldn’t wait to try it. The shoulder of lamb baked with potatoes is one of those classic recipes triumphing at any table in Spain, especially for their special occasions. Glazed lamb shank was served with Catalan Mash accompanied by Caramelized shallots. The meat was ever succulent and the Catalan mash could have been eaten as a main by itself. The meat was well cooked and scrumptious.

The only best way to end one’s meal is with dessert.

For dessert we had the Torrija Caramelizada. Torrija is similar to French toast, but a heartier version. It’s a traditional Spanish dessert. It consists of a slice of braed soaked in milk or wine after being coated in egg and fried. It’s sweetened with honey, molasses or sugar and sweetened with cinnamon. I’m assuming it was so good, that my friend ate it all in one gulp without even letting me taste it. I’m not even kidding! So I’ll take his word for it, and say it was delectable.

The other dessert we ordered for was coca de la abuela, only because it had chocolate in it. coca de la abuela was cinnamon flavored cake served with chocolate sauce and ice cream. Not the best of the evening, but I loved the strong cinnamon flavor.

Coming to the second best drink of the evening – Espresso Martini.

It’s literally the best of both worlds. Espresso Martini is a cold, coffee-flavored cocktail made with vodka, espresso coffee, coffee liqueur, and usually has sugar syrup. The one served in Seville’s was devoid of sugar syrup and that made it ahmazing. It was served with the standard garnish of three coffee beans. I loved every sip and it was a perfect accompaniment with the dessert.

Aventura Park

Aventura is an outdoor adventure park that has recently opened in Dubai. It’s spread across 35,000 square metres of the Ghaf forest in Al Mushrif Park. It is the first outdoor obstacle course of its kind in UAE introduced by Dubai residents Hadi Fakhoury and Lina Malas. It’s amazing to see an obstacle course nestled in nature.

Aventura offers the most daring circuits and thrilling obstacles from tree-surfing and zip-lining to rope-climbing, you’re bound to reach peak adrenaline rush. It’s the perfect place to ‘hang’ around.

The variety of courses allow people to push themselves – there’s something for everyone’s level of fitness. From courses for children, to those who are scared of heights, to the adrenaline junkies – there’s something for everyone.

The park has 85 activities – including rope walks, log balancing, ladders and ziplines, the longest of which is 160 metres long and 10m high – split into six circuits, based on age of participants and difficulty level.
The Discovery and Rangers circuits are designed for children, while the Explorador activity is an easy course that can be done with the entire family. The Aventura, Thriller and Xtreme circuits are more challenging, with 10-15 obstacles each, plus ziplines.
Once the safety harness is latched on, an instructor gave a total 360 on the safety procedures in detail. Every participant is given a 20-minute, compulsory briefing about the harness and safety equipment, and how to navigate the courses.

The safety instructions seemed Latin and Greek at the beginning, but as we continued with the instructions, carabiners became a common word. The precautions taken to ensure safety are very good , which had me at ease from the word go.

About 15 instructors and guides are spread throughout the park to assist with the more challenging climbs and activities, or if someone is stuck on an obstacle.

A couple of trials later, we went off with Explorador to start off our adventure. Getting used to the clipping and unclipping of the climbing carabiners becomes second nature as one progresses through the activities

Explorador: With an average height of 3 metres and 17 obstacles, Explorador is the perfect starting point for your high ropes adventure. The course isn’t particularly difficult but it’s a great way to find your feet and adjust to the carabiner system.  It also gives a good view out over the more difficult Aventura and Thriller routes, allowing you to plot your next course.

Thriller: If you love zip lines, then Thriller should definitely be up your ante. This circuit stands at an average height of 8 metres and is filled with exhilarating zip-lines, including the 160-meter long zip-line across the park. From ziplining through the woods to climbing walls to surfing past trees to walking across wobbly logs of wood, every single one was more thrilling than the last.

Once you’ve raced through Thriller you’ll be ready to test yourself in every sense of the word.

Rangers: This includes 19 fun obstacles, from 1.5 -2 meters high for children.
Aventura:  Offering 15 challenges at around 5 meters high, and includes the chance to take on longer and higher zip lines across a larger area of the park.

Xtreme: Unfortunately, we were running short of time and hence couldn’t try the extreme, but it looked amazing . The most daring circuit of them all, at 5-8 metres high, and includes Aventura’s famous 25-meter Tarzan Jump.
We finished the course with aching muscles (muscles that were non-existent also ached) and were sweaty and messy. However, it was the most amazing experience we did have and we couldn’t have had a better Friday morning. I’d rather spend 3 hours at Aventura than over a movie, or stroll through a mall. Why stroll when you can zipline &  jump in lush green forest.
Though I did have a minor injury, it was just so worth it. I’d always cherish the scar (literally) as a memory of having stepped out of my comfort zone.
Though I was physically exhausted. It  was a Friday morning well spent!
