Eshak
Eshak is located in Al Mustaqbal Street,
Citywalk 2. It is operated by Bulldozer Group Worldwide, one of the
best-respected names in global hospitality, representing its first foray into
casual dining.
Eshak is a colourfully vibrant place
that serves a ‘Choyhana’ experience which essentially is a fusion of Middle
Eastern, Uzbek, Armenian, European, Georgian and Caucasian food.It draws
inspiration from the rich culture of the Silk Route, marked with homely touches
& generous portions.
The
interior of Eshak has a mystical charm to it with a combination of gold and
dark hues of purple with paintings that looked like warrior princesses and magic carpets from
another realm. The restaurant is quite big, it has both indoor and outdoor
seating area and has a huge bar and kitchen area.
We chose to sit inside. However, the ouside area looked very tempting and beautiful with floral sofas. As you enter you will notice a row of baskets of dry fruits and spices which gave a good vibe to the entire restaurant with a view of Burj Khalifa.
We tried the Hummus with meat, Muhamara, Eggplant salad, Black mantas, Chicken pie , Shashlik Kebab and for drinks we had the berry lemonade and mint lemonade.
I loved the cutlery as well, very rustic and felt like home.
Hummus with meat – I loved how thick the hummus
was and the combination with the meat along with warm fresh bread was saporous.
Muhamara – My first Muhamara experience and I
can’t wait to have more. The moreish combination of chilli paste, bread crumbs,
walnuts and olive oil was absolutely delish.
Eggplant salad – I loved eggplant, but I never
imagined in my wildest dream that I would be so hooked onto the salad. It was
exciting o my palate and I almost licked the plate clean. If you don’t have this at Eshak, you are
surely missing out on an amazing experience.
Crispy aubergine tossed with coriander, sesame seeds, and doused is
sweet tart dressing – yummm.
Black Mantas reminded me of Khinkhali. It was
stuffed with prawns and was so succulent and delish. In combination with yogurt it was just
perfect. I loved it. This is definitely a must have.
We were already full by now, but the chicken
pie was irresistible. It was perfectly
baked and savory. The pie was generously stuffed with chicken, cheese, and
mushroom and was topped with cherry tomatoes and rocket leaves.
For drinks try the Blackberry mojito which was
served with fresh blackberries. It’s definitely a summer saver. We also tried
green lemonade which was refreshing.
The service was a hit and miss. However, the
food was flavorful and delish. I would definitely be back for the food.
Eshak straddles the thin line between
laidback dinner and upmarket dining, while retaining a casual ambience with a wallet-friendly menu.If you
are looking for a dining experience that is simple, colourful and flavourful
then Eshak is definitely the place to go.
