L'OREAL PURE CLAY MASK

Hello guys,

I have been wanting to talk about the clay masks from l'oreal with you guys from some time now. So when i purchased the Pure clay mask, I thought I'd review this for you guys.

Do let me know what you think.

The L'Oréal Paris Laboratories have selected three pure clays and combined them with Red Algae extract in an exfoliating scrub, for brighter, smoother and fresher skin, every day. Finely milled apricot seeds gently exfoliate dull, uneven skin to reveal its natural glow. The beaded, creamy texture illuminates by exfoliating skin, without drying it out.

PURE CLAYS + RED ALGAE
Kaolin- a highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum
Montmorillonite- rich in minerals, a clay recognized for helping to eliminate imperfections
Ghassoul- a pure clay highly concentrated in minerals, renowned to help clarify complexion
Red Algae- known for its brightening properties

Experience
The mask comes in a square glass container with a twist top lid. The design is super basic, and the glass isn’t ideal for clumsy hands or bathroom tiles, but it does store the product effectively. I feel a squeeze tube would be less messy and more hygienic.

The mask has a thick paste like consistency, and grainy texture. There is a slight scent but that fades away after application. I have sensitive skin and have had no issue with either the texture or fragrance of this mask.

One of my favorite thing is that it can be used 2-3 times in a week, and only takes 10 minutes. You apply a thin layer in areas that needs exfoliation/ smoothing and leave it on for 10 minutes, and rinse. The mask does have gentle exfoliating grans throughout it, so you can massage the product into your skin for greater exfoliation. You can either use it as a scrub or mask. But I prefer using the face wash/ scrub and then follow it up with this as a mask.

The results are almost immediate. Skin looks much softer and even, Pores feel tighter. I have used the purifying mask and that was also one of my favorite product. This mask is cheap and quick to use and targets specific areas.

Pros:
Affordable
Effective
Easy application
Less time

Cons:
Packaging

El Mostacho

The Bystro Group, is all set to add more excitement to the buzzing F&B scene in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) with its upcoming Mexican concept El Mostacho.

The compact space boasts vibrant quirky décor, with trinkets bought at Mexican markets, such as crafts from Guadalajara and Oaxaca and an open kitchen.

The restaurant boasts a zesty menu packed with authentic Latino delights, with a keen focus on street food tacos.

In addition to classic dishes you'll also find healthy options, including homemade gluten-free tortillas, salads, and soups made from family recipes. The kitchen is led by Mexican-born Isaac Mendoza, who promises the “zesty spirit of Mexico” in all his dishes.

We started off our tasting session with special Coca Cola that contains sugarcane as opposed to corn syrup in regular Coco cola’s. Personally, since I stay away from aerated drinks it was hard for me to spot the difference.

If you go to a Mexican restaurant and don’t eat Guacamole then you definitely missed authentic Mexican experience. We had some creamy guacamole with Nachos. I love Guacamole, and this was really good. However, my Indian palate would have loved it to be spicier (I know, i'm rolling my eyes too).

For soup or sopas we had fresh tortilla soup, Tortilla in soup was definitely a fresh new concept for me. The combination of tortilla and tomatoes was not that bad. All the tortilla's are freshly made at the restaurant, which is an added bonus.

However, the star of the tasting was definitely the Tacos.  I loved the Beef and vegetarian tacos the most. The Taco plate had the Barbacoa, Carne Asada, Tinga De Pollo, and Hongoz corn Maiz.

What stood out was the Barbacoa which is slow cooked shredded beef – This shouldn’t be missed at all. It was juicy and tender and so well marinated. Big shoutout to Issac for making Vegetarian tacos so tasty. The Hongoz Corn Maiz had marinated portabello, sweet corn, avocado & pimento pepper. It was made to satiate.

We ended the meal with caramel flan. I prefer flan to be softer and not so chewy. Hence the dessert was a miss for me.

This place is perfect for quick bites. The menu is still in its nascent stage, so I’m sure in time – we will definitely be enjoying a full-fledged Mexican fare

Tribeca

Tribeca is located at the Ocean View Hotel, in the heart of JBR’s The Walk, Dubai. Named after the famed TriBeCa district of New York, it is an acronym for ‘Triangle Below Canal Block Association’.

Tribeca keeps up with the artsy scene that is so ‘New York’. The décor is loft-style meets warehouse interior with concrete floors, exposed brick walls and steel pipes, quirky urban décor, artifacts, contemporary pop art and chilled out industrial mayhem all that pays tribute to Tribeca’s industrial roots. Graffiti-style walls in the balcony, mismatched chairs, funky lamps hanging from the ceiling, make this a perfect any day joint.

There are a few distinct parts of this restaurant – from comfy battered sofa’s to high bar stools, intimate areas for couples to long dining tables for large groups and a narrow alfresco balcony with foosball table and murals. The fact that it has a platform to showcase local and upcoming talent in both art and music scene is commendable.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and asked for our seating preference. We chose to sit outside in the terrace area, and Darko and the rest of the staff ensured that the door was always closed to drown out the music.

Tribeca is committed to organic produce wherever possible and I loved the simplicity of their menus – paper pinned to a piece of cardboard with a clothes peg. Using recycled building materials wherever possible displays Tribeca’s commitment to global sustainability.

The bar features all the classic beverages as well as organic wines and signature cocktail options.

We ordered the Jamaican Bolt and  Nutty professor. The Jamaican Bolt was served in a  totem mug topped with a flaming passion fruit. I love theatrics especially with food and this was the highlight of our evening. For those who love cream based drinks, Nutty professor would be a good choice. I shifted to Eminem and loved it.

For starters we ordered the Black cod ceviche, chicken tacos and nachos were recommended.

The Black Cod Ceviche was a surprise in itself. First glance and I thought it would lack the needed taste to satiate my Indian Palate. I took the first bite and it was bland. But for the second one I scooped it up from further within and was in for a surprise of citrusy flavors, ginger, a dash of chilli, avocado and coriander and mint stood out as well. The combination of crispy corn tortillas along with the tangy cod was a winner. It’s a must have.

Chicken tacos was served on a long tray with three portions. The fact that the tacos were wiped off in minutes are proof as to how appetizing they were. The marinated chicken breast, cabbage, pineapple relish and chipotle mayo wrapped in soft tacos were a treat to the stomach. The spices were just perfect, my only complaint is that serving 3 portions would definitely create  a food fight between two people.

Darko recommended that we try the nachos and so we did. I’m so glad that we didn’t miss out on these. Tortilla chips were loaded with angus beef, cheddar cheese, jalapeno, olives, sour cream and guacamole. You should have it before it runs cold.

For the mains we ordered, Organic Salmon and tenderloin steak.

The Salmon portion is a little too big, so I was upset I couldn’t finish it all. However, I enjoyed the crispy skin and the fact that the salmon was perfectly cooked, it tasted so good with the carrot and thyme puree. Apple and walnut salad on the side was just the perfect addition to complete the dish. Overall, it’s definitely a must try, if you like salmon as I do.

We had the steak with a side of truffle Mac and cheese. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium as requested and was juicy. It was served on a wooden blackened platter (which was a turn off for me), but the steak made up for it.

I was surprised we could still had space for dessert post our massive feast. For dessert we had the deconstructed NY cheese cake and S’mores.

Deconstructed cheesecake was a treat to the eyes and our palate. Steamed cheese cake was served on black slab with almond crumble and passion fruit puree. It was downright delectable. We devoured it right away.

The S’mores were a bit of too many elements and somehow not all of it went well together. It was served in a skittle with a brownie topped with coconut marshmallow, dulce de leche, caramel chocolate, peanut butter, popcorn crumble, raspberry jam and caprice cookies. For those who love a lot in their dessert, this is a good option.

The vibe of this place, along with the warm friendly staff coupled with live music and amazing food makes this a place to unwind post work. The staff is attentive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

If you are looking for a place to unwind over some good healthy food, fun ambiance and live entertainment, then Tribeca is the place for you.

ZERESOUQ | Jumpsuit

Hi Guys,

I hope you are having an amazing month, and that April is treating you good. This month is all about relaxed vibes and laidback pamper sessions, and of course that means online shopping as well.

I picked this black Jumpsuit from Zeresouq and i'm beyond excited to share the look with you as well. It is causal, effortless and laid back, yet so chic and stylish. It's a sexy number you can wear for a date night, or even a night out with friends, to the movies, party - it's just a perfect outfit that fits both for day and night wear. I styled it with Rene Coavilla sandals along with hoops and kept my makeup simple and finished it off with a sleek middle part hairdo.

Let me know what you think!

ONI

I was invited for the launch of Oni - the newly opened Japanese restaurant in Shangri- La hotel. Oni is an authentic Japanese restaurant, where just about everything originated from Japan.  From the ingredients, machinery, and anything authentic you may spot – chances are it’s sourced from Japan.

The ambiance was very elegant. Oni has a separate bar and dining area. Rebecca at the bar was extremely helpful and assisted us with our choice of beverage. We started off with Espresso Margarita and then moved closer home to Red Wine.

Of the lot we were served – I loved the Tuna tacos and the Milk cake.

The tuna tacos in combination with the truffles and avocado was simply sumptuous.

I was pretty intrigued to see the Robata grill. Oni uses traditional methods of using charcoal to cook their Robatas, preserving the juicy tenderness of the meat.

The Milk cake really stood out for me. It was scrumptious and delish and I went in for a second helping as well.

We were served Salads, edamame, Prawn tempura, tuna tacos, sushi platter, ramen, milk cake and mochi.

The service was impeccable. The fact that they were all dressed in Kimonos made the restaurant feel more authentic. Special mention to Siddhesh who was ever ready to help.

Oni is a place for authentic Japanese street food, and should definitely be on your must try list.
