Alloro Ristorante

Dubai has seen an influx of Italian restaurants recently and Alloro Ristorante is one of them. Alloro located within the Wyndham Dubai Marina Hotel, is inspired by a team of foodies that believe ‘there’s a little Italian in all of us’.

Alloro is offering a Friday brunch in a cozy setup, with live band and chef table service. You can easily find a spot for yourself owing to the spacious indoor and outdoor seating area. The interior is done up with dim lighting and earthy tones, complete with marble top tables. They had a rustic long table set up in the center, laden with fresh vegetables which was a sight to behold.

It’s a set brunch menu that they have carefully chalked out, keeping the real taste of Tuscany in mind. Be ready to have an explosion of Italian food with some good wine.

We started off with an Aperol welcome drink which prepared us for what was to come.

As we were busy sipping on our drinks, a beautiful plate of Prugna in prigione which is essentially roasted plum wrapped in turkey bacon was set before us. The plating looked beautiful and very inviting, and the starter set my taste bud tingling.

Italian food is incomplete without bread and we had a selection of Antipasti homemade Italian bread.

For starters we had frittata, bruschetta, polenta, Spiedino & Insalata. What caught my attention was how fresh the veggies were. I loved how they were all served on a wooden platter. My favorites were the Insalata, polenta and frittata.

Before our main course we were served mango and peach sorbetto that was a palate cleanser.
We moved onto our mains – the brunch offers eight main course meals including roast beef meatloaf. You need to save up space for all the food.

For the main we had – Lasagna, Pasta, stracetti, pesce persico, cabbage salad, beans salad and roast beef meatloaf.

Beef Lasagna was scrumptious. I kept devouring it almost forgetting that there was a huge spread waiting post this.  Stracetti was delish too. I loved how the chicken strips were presented in lime and ginger juice. The flavors were an instant hit with my palate.

Roasted perch was crispy and tasted very good as well. I loved both the fagiolini and cabbage salad. The fagiolini, I would say is an acquired taste - but definitely worth a try at Alloro.

We were so stuffed with all the food, that we almost thought it was over until the chef came to our table with the live carving station. He served us beef meatloaf with beetroot puree. The combination of the meatloaf and beet puree was amazing.

We managed to still have space after all the food we had and we were glad we did. The dessert platter is one not to be missed.

The platter or rather tray was a sweet tooth’s delight. It had Tiramisu crepe, banana zeppole with chocolate cream, blueberry and lime pannacotta, cassata siccilaana.

My favorite was the banana zeppole and panacotta. If I did have enough space I would have asked for more of both.

No Italian meal is complete without Tiramisu, and what better way to have it than in a crepe.  The tiramisu in it was definitely the surprise element. The zeppole was so delish especially the chocolate cream – it was whipped to perfection.  The fried banana zeppole combined with chocolate cream was scrumptious.

What stood out more was the blueberry and lime panacotta. I just couldn’t stop myself from finishing it clean.

The food ,ambiance, service combined with live music was beautiful for the brunch setting. Angelina and Rolando ensured we were taken care of right from the time we stepped in to Alloro.

So, head right over for a perfect Friday afternoon with family or friends and indulge in the generous portions of Tuscany goodness that is served from 2PM to 5PM at only at Alloro.

Denim Pinafores

Hi Guys,

I'm back with another classic - Denim. I love Denim. It's an all season, versatile fabric. However, summer's call for cuter and shorter denims, and what better way than Pinafores to break the norm from shorts and skirts?

I love this Zip up Denim Pinafore from Bardot and teamed it with a tropical print off shoulder top from Forever 21. I completed the look with cute pony tails and silver sneakers from top shop.

Let me know what you think:

Thigh High love

Hi Guys,

I'm so excited to share this look with you. I LOVE thigh high slits and was excited when I found this dress from Missguided. The floral pattern is perfect for summer. The open tie back lends in a very sensuous mysterious feel. It's a perfect date night dress. It's glam, sexy and flirty.

I have styled the outfit with bling earrings and Rene Caovilla shoes that are all bling. Sleek middle parted hairdo accentuates the features and Red lipstick just completes the entire look

Le Petit Belge

Le Petit stands for all things small but perfectly formed, just like the country it takes its inspiration from. It recently opened it’s new branch in Double Tree by Hilton, Business Bay.

You’ll also find find this cosy restaurant tucked away in the basement of the Pullman hotel in JLT, serving up Belgian dishes and beers.

Get ready for an explosion of  Belgian brews and classic Belgian staples such as Moules Frites, croquettes in a fun and casual atmosphere.

For a soft opening, the place was packed, and we know why! Belgian food is comfort food. PERIOD!

The ambiance blends into the fun casual setting with exposed industrial ceilings, pretty pendant lighting, open kitchen and the gorgeous, expansive bar. You can opt to sit at the bar area,  dining area  or unwind  outside.

There was an overflow of amazing bar bites and drinks.

From lip-smacking croquettes to sliders – everything was belt-bustlingly good. They definitely believe in quality and quantity.

My favorites were the croquettes and the sliders.

The croquettes are perfectly crisp outside and filled with gorgeously sharp, gooey cheese in the center paired with a sticky pear dipping sauce. Belgians are masters of the deep fryer, and these delightful little balls were frizzled to perfection.

The sliders had the juicest patty ever.

Though it was extremely busy, the service was spot on. The staff is very warm and welcoming.

Chef Albert Raven was kind enough to make us a butterscotch dessert as well, which was toothsome. It was filling and was the perfect size and meal to end the day with.

Black is the new Black

Hello guys,

There's something attractive about teh color black, and what's better than head to toe in black?

I love these co ords from ginger. They are sporty yet glam and chic. Spice em up with some accessories or mellow em down with sneakers. Either ways you are going to be a head turner in them. The crop top and the loose culottes, give a very effortless look. I have teamed them with tassel earring and added a pop of color to my lips. Nude pumps complete the look.

Heat up the Summer

Hello loves,

It's time to ditch the woolens and say hello to everything fun and bright. I always associate Summer with colors and Red to me is a color that screams summer.

I got this Little Red number from Missguided and love how versatile this is. The off shoulder screams glam yet comfy and classy and the frill details add in a flity, chic summer vibe to it. I teamed it with nude pink New look pumps with bow details. Minimal makeup, with almost nude lips and out of the bed hair complete the look for me.

ZERESOUQ | MAXI DRESS

Hi Guys,

I hope you are having an amazing month, and that April is treating you good. This month is all about relaxed vibes and laidback pamper sessions, and of course that means online shopping as well.

I picked this Nude Maxi dress from Zeresouq and i'm beyond excited to share the look with you. Online bought Maxi dresses have a bad history with me of ending up being really short. However I was beyond thrilled when this Maxi dress was exactly as I wanted it to be. It was long, the material was soft and the color was beautiful.

The ruffles, bardot , color makes it a very beautiful look in total.  It's feminine, graceful, flirty, sensuous and elegant as a whole.

I styled it with Rene Coavilla sandals along with hoops and kept my makeup simple and finished it off with a sleek middle part hairdo.

Let me know what you think!
